I've always loved cartoons and most animated movies. This was fun to watch and actually gets better when viewed more than once. Will Ferrell gives his voice to the "Megamind" villian (but he's not as evil as he thought he was). I'll enjoy watching this again with my grandkids :)
The DVD arrived in great shape and in under a weeks time.

they had the format where I could not watch it on blueray which upset me AND I had to send it back because it would not play on my older player

this is the best animation i have seen in a while. or ever. there was a segway with spikes. karate kid was referenced. the superhero died, but that made the plot very down. it was only a little too over the top, but was voiced well by will ferrel. and i love how jonah hill is destroyed as a character, how he abuses his powers and plays video games.

Although thoroughly unimpressed by the marketing for this movie, I caught it on Netflix and fell in love with it. I bought it that week. The characters are well-rounded and enjoyable, the story is thoughtful and heartfelt, and the animation is superb.
This is one of the few movies that I can enjoy over and over, which works well because my daughter absolutely loves it. She enjoys the rock music and action scenes (which I also like), while I get to watch a fun, subtle movie with characters with understandable motivations and smart humor mixed in with jokes she can understand.
I'm really hoping Dreamworks will expand this franchise. It's too wonderful a movie to fall into obscurity.
